Charles R. Campbell, Sr.

Charles R. Campbell Sr., 77 of Denver, passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2023. Born in Sunbury, and grew up in East Pennsboro, he was the youngest of 13 children born to Scott E. & Neta (Snyder) Campbell and the loving husband of 59 years to Frances L. (Schwalm) Campbell. Charlie was a manager at Tyson in New Holland for over 30 years, where he retired in 2006. He enjoyed all types of game hunting, deer, bear, mule deer, turkey, and pheasant. He enjoyed the freedoms and privacy of hunting on his own land. He often hunted with family and invited friends. Charlie also enjoyed fishing. For over 25 years he was a faithful member of the Reamstown Church of God and formerly helped with the lawn maintenance. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed a day of hard work like chopping firewood for the home's wood stove. He was friendly, enjoyed conversation, and always shared an encouraging word. In addition to his wife, Charlie is survived by four children, David Campbell of York Haven, Charles Campbell Jr. (Ella) of Denver, Allen Campbell (Sydney) of Dallas TX, Becky Conn (Ray) of Cornwall; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several brothers and sisters.
