Clarence R. Burd, Sr.

Clarence R. Burd, Sr., age 90, of West Cocalico Township, Denver, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, July 29, 2017, at 8:55 PM in Mt. Joy Hospice Center. Born in Denver, a son of the late Paul Maude (Eckenrode) Burd, Sr., he was married 73 years on June 28th to Arlene (Schmeck) Burd. An equipment operator for several companies, he also did concrete work with his father in earlier years. He had a great interest in local artifacts, antique 'Hit'n'Miss' engines and cherished family times. Surviving in addition to his wife, are children, Ronald (Carol) Burd, Clarence (Betty Jane) Burd, Jr., Pat (Bob) Stricker; 9 granchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren. A grandson, Wesley Burd, and siblings, Miriam Hehnly Paul Burd, Jr. predeceased him. A viewing will be held Wednesday, August 2, from 6 to 8 PM in Good Funeral Home Cremation Centre, Reamstown. Rather than flowers, contributions in Clarence's memory may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
