Ernest C. Shupp, age 93, formerly of Swartzville, East Cocalico Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, lived at Ephrata Manor and died December 8, 2014, at 12:30 PM in Ephrata Community Hospital. Born in Swartzville, son of the late Charles G. and Zenia B. (Wolfskill) Shupp, his wife, Marie M. (Beard) Shupp, died August 21, 1998. He was a member of Peace United Church of Christ, Swartzville, and was a lifetime choir member. Ernie was a self-employed farmer, painter & wallpaperer; having worked for Lee Burkholder Builders. He enjoyed woodworking, artwork and music. He also sang and played banjo & guitar with The Heidelberg German Band. Surviving is a daughter, Linda L., married to Thomas E. Snader, Manheim; son, Charles B. "Chuck", married to Kim (Homan) Shupp, Terre Hill; grandchildren, Bryan & Brent Snader, Olivia Puglisi, and Lili Dippner; great-grandchildren, Jessica, Jarod, Julia, Anna, Asha, Zenia and a sister, Mary Jane Steely, Denver. Siblings Sara S. Stober & Lester Shupp predeceased him. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 12, 2014, at 10 AM from Peace United Church of Christ, 37 E. Swartzville Rd., Denver, PA 17522, with his pastor, The Rev. William E. Hoch, officiating. Burial will follow in Muddy Creek Cemetery, Swartzville. Viewings will be on Thursday, December 11, 2014, from 6 to 8 PM from The Chapel at Ephrata Manor, 99 Bethany Rd., Ephrata, PA 17522, and Friday prior to the service at church. Flowers are welcome and contributions may be sent to the music fund of the church.
