Helen Nolt

September 30, 1936 — November 20, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Helen Nolt, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister & aunt on November 20, 2024. She was born on September 30, 1936, in Lititz, PA to the late Walter & Josephine Smith.


Helen met the love of her life Lester & they married May 7, 1955 & lived in Ephrata, PA until moving to Seaford in 1965 for Lester’s work. They had four children, Greg, Mike, Barry & Lisa.


Helen’s greatest joy was having her family together & making chicken & beef & dumplings. She loved baking Christmas cookies with her granddaughters & great grandchildren. She made dresses for the girls, hand smocked, machine embroidered & hair bows to match. She enjoyed doing ceramics with her daughter-in-law & made everyone their own needlepoint Christmas stockings, as well as hand quilted bedspreads. She was always in the kitchen making homemade strawberry preserves, pies, peach cobbler, dumplings & Shoofly pie. She loved working in her yard planting flowers.


Helen & Lester loved to travel & take cruises with Harold & Floy Nolt, Mac & Shirley MacArthur, Denny & Tut Snader & visiting with her nephews & nieces, Terry & Ann Nolt, Vickie & Dave Manchester, Gary & Kathy Nolt, Dennis & Kelly Nolt & Jan & Dee Nolt all from PA. They would also spend several months in Hobe Sound, FL.


Helen is survived by her son, Greg (Cherie), granddaughters, Jennifer Wright (Adam) of Georgetown & Alison Reim (Brandon) of Millsboro, great-grandchildren, Breyden Wright, Kendyl Wright & Emmy Reim. She is also survived by her sisters, Mabel (Mim) Buffemnyer of Ohio, Eileen Landis of Sarasota, FL & Betty Barry of Ephrata, PA. She was preceded in death by her husband Lester, children, Mike, Barry & Lisa. Also, her parents, two sisters & a brother.


We would like to thank the staff at Paradise Senior Living for their excellent & compassionate care of our mom.


Funeral services will be private. Her final resting place is Cedar Hill Cemetery, Ephrata.
