James A. "Jim" Weber, 86, of Denver, passed away Friday, March 15,2024, at the Tower. Born in Denver, Jim was the son of the late Paul A. and Edna (Shupp) Weber and the loving husband to Mary Ann (Schonour) Weber for over 60 years.
Jim was a graduate of Governor Mifflin High School, class of 1955. Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served his country for over four years, stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Jim joined his father in the custom home building business. Working side by side, he honed his skills and eventually took over the family business. With his craftsmanship and attention to detail, Jim built beautiful homes that became a testament to his passion and expertise. Outside of work, Jim was an avid outdoorsman who found solace in caring for his property. He took great pride in maintaining his lawn and always had a new project to tackle, such as screening in the porch or tending to the Sand Hill Farms Christmas Tree Farm, which he co-managed with his wife for over 20 years. A true weather enthusiast, Jim had a lifelong fascination with meteorology. He kept a meticulous record of local weather conditions and amassed a collection of weather instruments. His knowledge and recorded observations were even shared with local news channels as valuable historical data. Jim's faith was an integral part of his life; he was a dedicated member of Muddy Creek Lutheran Church. He formerly served on the Church Council and the Property Committee. Every year, he generously donated a tree to the church and the women's shelter. Jim was quiet natured and had a sweet sense of humor. He loved hosting ice cream parties. His warm presence and genuine kindness made him a beloved friend and family member.
In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by three children, Jeffrey A. Weber (Diane), Melissa A. Bruce (Sean), and Michelle A. Dimitris (Scott); three grandchildren, twins Cole and Sophia Dimitris, and Caleb Bruce; and Jim's loyal companion, his dog Loki.
