James H. Routson

James H. Routson, 51, of Denver, Pa, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 25, 2023, at the WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital. Born in Lynn, Mass., Jim was the youngest son of Robert L. & Carol Ann (Letzring) Smith. For over 16 years he and Misty A. (Epler) Routson were together and shared over 11 of those years as husband & wife. Jim worked as a supervisor for the Pitney Bowes office in Reading. He was well skilled in firearms, both handguns and rifles. He spent a lot of time at C.P. Tactical Solutions in Sinking Spring, keeping his sights on the bead and aiming for the bullseye. He was also great at archery. Jim was a talented electric guitar player; he loved playing popular tunes and tinkering with the sound. Cooking was another one of Jim's talents, he could cook up family favorites and put a twist to new recipes. He had an artistic gift as well and painted abstract art. Most of all, he loved his family with his whole heart. Misty and the boys were his priority. Every memory involves Jim's presence and devotion. Jim was a reserved, quiet guy but when he did speak up, it was important. He was fun to be around and had a great sense of humor. In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by two sons, Sabbith W. Weikel of Kutztown, and Cole S. Weikel of Denver, Pa; three brothers, Robert Routson (Lynn) Quakertown, Mark Smith (Pam) of Charlottesville, Va and David Routson (Vicki) of Myerstown; four nieces and a nephew. A viewing will be held on Sat., July 8th from 11 a.m.to 12:30 p.m. at Good Sipler Funeral & Cremation Centre, Inc., 34 N. Reamstown Rd., Reamstown (Stevens), Pa.
