Judith E. Lapp

Judith E. “Judi” Lapp, 81, of Ephrata, passed away at home surrounded by her loved ones on Tuesday, June 25th, 2024. Born in Farmingdale, Long Island, New York, Judith was a daughter to the late Earl and Elizabeth (Taylor) Ward. She shared 54 years of marriage with Raymond George Lapp Sr.

Judi grew up in Farmingdale, L. I., New York where she worked as a payroll clerk for a local mechanic as well as working as a librarian. Judi moved to Strasburg, Pennsylvania after marrying Raymond and later moved to New Holland where she cherished her greatest accomplishment and role as a homemaker raising her four children. Judi enjoyed sewing and loved to read and do crossword puzzles. She was also a talented painter and an amazing cook. In her younger years she was very involved with the Wesley United Methodist Church and the Sunday School program. As well as a champion bowler with the ladies bowling league in Strasburg. Judi was also very involved with The Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts of America when her children were younger. Judi also enjoyed watching sports, particularly the Pittsburg Steelers and the NY Mets. Judi’s loving heart will be dearly missed by all her family and friends.

Along with her husband, Judi is survived by four children, Elizabeth (Joshua) Hertzog-Solesbee of Ephrata, Lori-Ann (Gary) Perciful of Ephrata, Raymond Lapp Jr. of East Petersburg, Earle (Jessica) Lapp of Lancaster; and 11 grandchildren, Owen Hertzog, Aiden Hertzog, Dylen Hertzog, Marc Perciful, Matthew Perciful, Michael Perciful, Mitchell Perciful, Jonathan Lapp, Abigail Lapp, & Emma Lapp.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, July 2nd with visitation from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and a celebration service beginning at 4:00 p.m. at Gravenor Sipler Funeral & Cremation Centre, Inc., 100 West Main Street, Ephrata, PA 17522. A luncheon will be held following the service at Hillside Public House; 333 N. State St., Ephrata, PA 17522.
