Remembering Kelly... Kelly D. (Lausch) Burkett, 43, of 300 Wild Cherry Lane, Marietta, Lancaster County, died Sunday morning at 2:36 AM in a motorcycle accident in Maytown, Lancaster County. An autopsy was conducted at Conestoga View, Lancaster, on Monday. Born in Ephrata, Lancaster County, she was a daughter of Verna I. (Yost) Kieffer, Denver, and H. Richard Lausch, Mohnton, and was the wife of Gerald B. Burkett, Harrisburg, for the past 16 years. She was a member of Mellinger's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Schoeneck, Lancaster County. A 1976 graduate of Cocalico High School, she enjoyed flower gardening, reading and was an avid Nascar fan. Kelly was the assistant manager of the K-Mart in Elizabethtown for the past 4 years. Previously she was employed as a bookkeeper for 17 years by Motor Truck Equipment Company, Carlisle. Surviving in addition to her parents is a step-father, Nevin E. Kieffer, Denver; a maternal grandmother, Irene (Getz) Yost, Denver; a son, Scott R. Simmons, Denver; 4 sisters, Stella (Kieffer) Leonti, Flying Hills (Reading), PA; Karen D. Lausch, Denver; Kim D. Kieffer, Lancaster; and Stacy M. (Lausch) Urso, Langhorne, PA; and 2 brothers, Alan, married to Nelli (Grier) Kieffer, Lutz, Florida; and Kevin D. Kieffer, Denver. Viewing Services... Kelly's viewing will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2001, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM from our parlor. The casket will also be open for viewing an hour prior to the church service on Friday. The funeral ceremony will be held on Friday, December 7, 2001, at 11:00 AM from Mellinger's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 80 Gockley Road, Stevens (Schoeneck), PA, with her pastor, The Reverend Timothy L. Craven, officiating. Burial will take place immediately following the church service in Mellinger's Cemetery, Schoeneck, near her grandfather, Elmer Yost.
