M. Lillian Snyder

July 25, 1941 — December 10, 2023

M. Lillian Snyder, 82, of Akron, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2023, at the York Rehab & Nursing Center, Bedrock Care. Born in Jasper, Alabama, Lil was a daughter of the late Sefus and Mary M. (Connell) Stacks and the loving, devoted wife to William ‘Bill’ V. Snyder for 53 years.

Lil grew up in Alabama and attended Cordova High School until the 11th grade when she moved to Pennsylvania with her parents. The move to PA united her with the love of her life, Bill, and she treasured the family that they raised together. Lil worked for Colebrook Terry in Brownstown for 15 years. She later started her own baking business, ‘Grandma’s Goodies’, baking unique and delicious treats until the age of 78. Lil’s family agrees that her chocolate cake was the best of all time! Lil enjoyed traveling and together with Bill, they enjoyed a 5-week RV trip across the country to visit the west coast. In their younger years, Lil and Bill would bowl in two bowling leagues, a memory that even their children treasure, recalling the evenings at the Dutch Lanes. Lil enjoyed watching football and even followed our local Manheim Barons. A longtime member of New Joy Church, Lil was rooted in her faith and was a loving, caring wife, and mother.

In addition to her husband, Lil is survived by three sons, Danny L. (Snow) Snyder of Bakersfield, CA, Jeffrey L. Snyder of Mount Wolf, and Brian K. (Tina) Snyder of Manheim; seven grandchildren, Amanda Snyder, Jessica Snyder, Justin Snyder, Jordan Snyder, Alexis Snyder, Jeremiah Snyder, and Gwendolyn (Anthony) Christian; three great grandchildren, Chase, Paisley, and Oaklee; and two sisters, Linda (John) Sokol of Richland, and Glenda Burdine of Akron. Lil was predeceased by a son, Michael R. Snyder and three siblings, Floyd Stacks, Howard Stacks, and Joann Frey.

A viewing will be held on Wed., Dec. 20th from 10 to 11 a.m. at Gravenor Sipler Funeral & Cremation Centre, 100 W. Main St., Ephrata and the funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Ephrata.
