Rebecca "Beckie" G. Fry

December 5, 1934 — February 3, 2024

Rebecca “Beckie” G. Fry, 89, of Ephrata, passed away early Saturday morning, February 3, 2024, after a brief illness. Born in Elkton, KY on December 5th, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Flavious N. and Louise (Davis) Gill.


Beckie was a graduate of Shawnee High School, Louisville, KY and attended the University of Kentucky where she met her sweetheart, the late Morton S. Fry and together shared 64 years of marriage until his passing in 2019.


Beckie was an active member of the Bethany United Church of Christ, the Ephrata Women’s Club, and the Historical Society of Cocalico Valley. Beckie was an avid quilter and a member of the Lancaster Quilters Guild where she taught quilting. And as a Dachshund fancier, she was a member of the Lancaster kennel Club. An avid collector of graniteware, she enjoyed antiques and was a member of the National Graniteware Society.


Beckie is survived by her four children, Vincent V. (Caroline) Fry, Victoria L. Fry, Anthony D. (Denise) Fry, and M. Simon Jr. (Karen) Fry, 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.


Viewing will be held on Thurs., Feb. 8th from 10 to 11 a.m. in Bethany UCC, 140 E. Main St., Ephrata, and the funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., officiated by Rev. Katie Jackson. Interment is private in Bergstrasse Cemetery, Ephrata.
