Remembering "Dick" with Love... Richard Charles "Dick" Moyer, age 68, of 260 Clay School Road, Ephrata, died Sunday, November 26, 2006, at 3:30 AM in the Essa Flory Hospice Center, East Hempfield Township, where he was a guest since Monday, November 20. Born January 22, 1938, in Reading , he was a son of the late Norma Mae (Kantner) Berger. A 1955 graduate of Reading High School , he was a Lance Corporal in the Marine Corps and a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Denver. Dick was an auto mechanic with Dick Horrigan VW, Reading, for many years and had worked for various car dealerships during his 25 years in the field. He last worked for Warner-Lambert, Lititz. A life member, past president, and longtime ambulance driver of Reamstown Fire Co. No. 1, he was also active in the Lancaster County Fire Police. He was a past trustee and president of Reamstown Athletic Association and a member of the Flying Dutchman Model Airplane Club. Surviving is his companion, Bonnie (Althouse) Steffy, with whom he resided; 2 daughters, Lisa, wife of Terry Eberly, Robesonia; and Leslie, wife of Scott Achey, Denver; a son, Bradley Moyer, Wernersville; and 6 grandchildren. A sister, Kathryn Bosold, preceded him in death. Memorial Service... A memorial celebration of life will be held on Friday, December 1, 2006, at Noon from Reamstown Fire Hall, 12 West Church Street , Reamstown, with his pastor, The Reverend David R. Brumbaugh, officiating. There will be no viewing. Dick's wishes were that rather than flowers, you remember him with gifts to Reamstown Fire Co., Post Office Box 276 , Reamstown , PA 17567 .
