Rose Huey

Rose Mary Huey, 75, of Narvon, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at ProMedica Skilled Nursing & Rehab in Laureldale. Born in Brookville, Rose was a daughter of the late Hiram Hudson & Etta Rose (Lindemuth) Doane and the loving wife of 54 years to Donald G. Huey. Rose loved being a mom and caring for her family was most important to her. She and Don moved their family to California in 1978, returning to PA in 1989. Rose was a talented quilter and loved to give quilts as gifts. Rose's quilts were a true symbol of her hardworking hands, steadfast love, and warmth. In addition to her gifts, she would make a quilt every year to be auctioned at the family reunion, using the proceeds to fund next year's event. She enjoyed crafts, embroidery, making Raggedy Ann & Andy dolls, and writing poems and sayings into books. Rose loved to bake cookies and spoil the neighborhood kids with baskets of goodies. She was always busy, always loving, and always thinking of others. In addition to her husband, Rose is survived by four children, Melissa F. Freet (Randall) of West Lawn, Steven L. Huey (Karri) of Virginia Beach, Angela J. Beck (Brian) of Mohnton, Cynthia D. Beinlich (Scott) of New Holland; five grandsons, Steven, Brian, Darion, Matthew, two step grandchildren, A.J. & Krista; and one step great grandchild, Oliver. Rose was predeceased by a daughter, Dawn Biscanti; and two brothers, James Doane and Wayne Doane. Services for Rose will be private and her final resting place in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pa.
