Roxie Young

Roxie L. Young, 93, of Ephrata, formerly of Reamstown, passed away Friday, April 22, 2022, at the WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital. Born in Pikeville, NC, she was the daughter of the late Robert F. and Elva (Pike) Parnell and the loving wife of 54 years to Harold G. "Hap" Young, until his passing in 2007. Roxie was a graduate of Nahunta High School in NC, class of 1948. She worked at the former Weaver Corp. in Denver for over 20 years. Roxie loved to travel; cruises were here favorite. A game of cards with friends or family was always a fun time for Roxie. She resided with her daughter for the past 15 years and was grateful to have the family together. She loved to spoil her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will forever be remembered for her kind and giving spirit. Roxie is survived by her two children, Larry D., husband of Ruth (Moyer) Young of Mooresville, NC, and Sandra L., wife of David Rogers of Ephrata; two grandchildren, Amanda Henry-Ruhl., wife of Josh, and Daniel Rogers, husband of Sophie; and three great grandchildren, Madison, Landon, and Hailey. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, Earl W. Parnell and Charles Parnell. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 26th at 1:00 p.m. in Muddy Creek Cemetery, Denver.
