Ruth Sweigart

Ruth M. Sweigart, age 85, formerly of Reinholds, died Sunday, February 3, 2013, at 11:20 AM in Ephrata Manor, where she resided since 2003. Born in West Reading, Berks County, PA, she was a daughter of the late Edwin and Elizabeth (Killinger) Wenrich. Her husband, William L. Sweigart, died January 8, 1981. A member of Emmanuel Mennonite Church, Reinholds, she attended the Ephrata Manor Chapel services where she sang with the choir. Ruth had a strong faith in the Lord and enjoyed singing, country music and reading. She worked at the former A. N. Wolf Shoe Company, Denver, and Wilbur Chocolate Factory, Lititz. Surviving is her son, Larry L. (Sharon Royer) Sweigart, Ephrata; granddaughters, Denise L. Martin & Lori A. Munoz; 3 step-grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Colamarino, Ephrata; Anna Ponessa, Lebanon; and Rose Hoch, Elizabethtown; and brothers, Edwin Wenrich Jr., Schuylkill Haven; and Frank Noecker, Orwigsburg. A step-son, Roger Sweigart, and sister, Mary Killinger, predeceased her. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 6, 2013, at 2:00 pm with Pastor Barbara Horst officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Memorial Park, Ephrata. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service.
