A. David Gerhart, 73, of Lancaster, passed away, surrounded by his loving family, on September 13, 2018, at Country Meadows, Lancaster, PA. Dave was born in Lancaster, PA, to Alexander and Kathryn (Brubaker) Gerhart on June 21, 1945. He worked as a textile examiner for Weave Corporation in Denver, PA for 26 years. Dave was an avid collector of stamps, coins, and sports memorabilia. He was a loyal fan of Penn State football and women's college basketball. He enjoyed reading, especially history, political science, and genealogy. He also studied piano and organ, and composed music. Preceding Dave in death were his parents. Surviving Dave are two daughters Melissa S. wife of Brian Sneath of Lancaster, PA, and Stephanie L. Kendall companion of Doug Fellenbaum of Lebanon, PA, also two grandchildren, Ashley (Harnish) Marquart wife of Ryan Marquart of Lancaster, PA, and Katelyn (Harnish) Hess wife of Joshua Hess of Washington Boro, PA, and one brother, Jeffrey W. Gerhart husband of Linda of Wyomissing, PA. Friends may gather to visit at Paul L. Gravenor Home For Funerals, 100 W. Main St. Ephrata, PA, on Wednesday, September 19, 2018, from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, with the Rev. Henry Herbener officiating. Burial will follow at Mellinger's Union Cemetery, Gockley Road, Schoeneck, PA.
