Albert C. Avery, 80, of Ephrata, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, March 20th, 2025. Born in Stanford, CT, Albert was a son of the late George & Virginia (Russo) Avery and shared nearly 60 beautiful years of marriage with Patricia A. (Rodtnik) Avery.
Albert graduated from Lancaster Bible College and began working as a sales manager in the print industry. He and Patricia were members of the Westminster Presbyterian Church for many years. Albert was a known history buff and put his passion and knowledge into educating others through Civil War Re-enacting for over 15 years. His reenacting skills got him a part in the film “Gods and Generals”. Along with being an avid reader and historian, Albert enjoyed spending his free time fishing, gardening with Patricia, and spending time with his grandchildren. Albert was a family man, always loving and supporting others, and his kind and wise heart will be deeply missed by all.
Along with his wife, Albert is survived by two sons, Paul A. (Colleen) Avery of Ephrata, and David M. (Jenn) Avery of Lititz; two grandsons, Connor Avery & Cormick Avery; and a granddaughter, Audrey Avery.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 27th at 11:00 a.m. at the Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2151 Oregon Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601 and a graveside service will be held on Friday, March 28th at 2:00 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery, 799 Baltimore Street, Gettysburg, PA 17325.
