Anna Elizabeth Pester

Anna E. Pester, 99, formerly of Manayunk, Philadelphia, and resident of Greenfield Senior Living of Perkiomen Valley, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2024. Born in Philadelphia, Anna was a daughter of the late John & Elizabeth Leahy and the loving wife to Charles B. Pester, Jr. until his passing in 2006.

She was married for 58 years to her late husband and childhood friend, Chase. Anna loved living and raising her family in their Manayunk home on St. David Street. Anna & Chase moved to the Adamstown area of Lancaster Co., back in the mid 80’s, where they happily spent the next 35 years of their lives together. Anna enjoyed the simple things in life like going to the Shady Maple Restaurant for dinner instead of a more upscale restaurant. Ann truly enjoyed her annual vacations in Wildwood NJ, with her friends & family. She loved playing Bingo with her older sister Mary. Anna was an active member of the Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, in Ephrata.

Anna sadly lost her oldest child, Linda, in 2018 and is survived by her three sons, Charles J. Pester (his wife Lisa) of Collegeville, Gary M. Pester (his wife Wendy) of Lafayette Hills, and Micheal J. Pester (his wife Shelly) of Lafayette Hills. Anna was truly blessed in her life with 53 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Anna was predeceased by eight of her siblings. Brothers, Eugene, Charles, William & James, Sisters, Dorothy, Mary, Rose & Catherine. Anna will be deeply missed by her family & friends.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday, July 19th at 10:30 a.m. held at OMPH Catholic Church, 320 Church Ave, Ephrata, PA 17522. A graveside service will follow, taking place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, Pennsylvania.
