Remembering Annie with love... Annie E. Mentzer, 78, of 307 Grant Road, Adamstown, Lancaster County, formerly of Bowmansville, Lancaster County, died Friday evening at the Essa Flory Hospice Center, East Hempfield Township, Lancaster County, where she was a guest for the past two weeks. Born in Brecknock Township, Berks County, she was a daughter of the late William David and Ellenora (Bennethum) Moyer. Her husband, Clarence B. Mentzer, died September 17, 1994. She was a member of Emmanuel Evangelical Congregational Church, Adamstown. Retiring in 1983, she was employed for 32 years by Hope Hosiery Mill, Adamstown. Annie was a Gold Star Mother of the Vietnam War, having lost a son, Gerald L. Mentzer, in 1966. She was a Nascar fan, enjoyed collecting angels, dolls and stuffed animals, and was a true Christmas enthusiast, enjoying Christmas decorations year round in her home. Surviving are 2 sons, F. Gene, married to Dawn M. (Neff) Moyer, Bowmansville; and Randolph G. Mentzer, Adamstown; a granddaughter; and a sister, Ada May (Moyer) Miller, Reading. Services... A viewing will be held from our parlors on Monday evening, September 24, 2001, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. The Funeral ceremony will take place from our funeral home on Tuesday morning, September 25, 2001, at 11:00 AM with Annie's pastor, The Reverend Richard F. Christman, II, officiating. Burial will follow in Bowmansville Union Cemetery, Bowmansville, PA. Contributions...
