Remembering Anson with Love... Anson S. Epting, 85, of 1668 North Reading Road , Stevens, Lancaster County , died Friday evening in Ephrata Manor following a short illness. Born in Upper Tulpehocken Township , Berks County , he was a son of the late Wallace M. and Sallie M. (Moyer) Epting, and was the husband of Mildred S. (Martin) Epting for 56 years. A member of Muddy Creek Evangelical Lutheran Church , Swartzville, he was a 1938 Graduate of Schaefferstown High School and a graduate of Temple University Electronics School , Allentown . He and his wife owned and operated the former Epting's Shopping Center, Reamstown, and he also repaired televisions and radios for many years. Anson was a staff sergeant in the Army during World War II. He was a member of Ephrata Lodge #665 Free Accepted Masons, Rajah Shrine Club, American Legion of Ephrata, and the Ephrata, Adamstown and Reinholds VFWs. He enjoyed traveling, fishing and hunting. In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter, Dawn, wife of Rodney Kiscadden, Lebanon , PA ; 2 sons, Elvin, husband of Lynne (Bridgeman) Epting, Roanoke , VA ; and Terry, husband of Sandy (Murphy) Epting, Stevens, PA; 2 grandchildren, Scott Flickinger and Nichole Neuin; and 4 great-grandchildren. Viewing Funeral Service...A viewing will be held on Wednesday evening, December 28, 2005, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM from our establishment with Masonic Services at 8:00 PM by Ephrata Lodge #665 Free Accepted Masons. Services will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2005, at 1:00 PM from our parlors, with his pastor, The Reverend Paul W. Smeltz, officiating. Burial will follow in Strausstown Union Cemetery , Berks County .
