We Shall Remember... Arlene Wenger Slabach Arlene W. Slabach, 81, of 12 East Main Street, Brownstown, Lancaster County, died Wednesday evening at 9:50 PM in the Ephrata Community Hospital where she was a patient for the past 11 weeks. Born in Warwick Township, Lancaster County, she was a daughter of the late Ira G., Sr., and Emma (Foltz) Wenger, and was the wife of C. Franklin Slabach for 61 years on May 27, 2001. She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ of Hellers, Lancaster. Arlene retired in 1982 after 32 years with the former Shorenson Co., Brownstown. Following retirement she joined her husband in operating their business, The Brownstown Restaurant, until they sold it in 1987. She was a member of Cloister Chapter #406 Order of Eastern Star, Ephrata; was on the board of directors of the Young at Heart Seniors, Brownstown; and was an avid bowler. Surviving in addition to her husband is a daughter, Kathleen D., married to Ronald Roseman, Taylorsville, NC; and a son, C. Dean, married to Martha (Leonard) Slabach, Lexington, NC; 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth Short, Los Angeles, CA. She was predeceased by 2 sisters, Bertha Stief and Clara Buch, and 2 brothers, Ira G. Wenger, Jr., and Isaac Wenger. Viewing Funeral... Arlene's services will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2002, at 11:00 AM from Salem United Church of Christ of Hellers, Lancaster. Burial in Brownstown Cemetery, West Earl Township, PA. A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 AM at the church on Tuesday with a service of farewell conducted by Cloister Chapter #406 Order of Eastern Star, Ephrata, at 9:30 AM. The family is being served by Good Funeral Home Cremation Centre, Inc. of Reamstown.
