Barbara V. Spotts

Remembering Barbara... Barbara V. Spotts, 82, of Bowmansville, Lancaster County , died Wednesday morning at 12:20 AM in Ephrata Community Hospital where she was a patient after suffering a stroke and heart attack in her home on Monday. Born in Cumru Township , Berks County , she was a daughter of the late Cansie U. and Jennie (Ulrich) Shupp. Her husband, Warren G. Spotts, died June 12, 2003. She was a member of St. Paul 's United Church of Christ, Bowmansville. Many years ago she had been employed by the former Redcay Hat Factory, Adamstown, and by Bollman Hat Company, Adamstown. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and cross stitching and was known for her cooking and baking skills. Surviving are 2 sons, Kenneth M., married to Susan A. (Styer) Spotts, Mohnton , PA ; and Frederick J. Spotts, Denver , PA ; 3 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Muriel Schlouch, Mohnton , PA ; and Lillian Schweitzer, Adamstown , PA ; and 2 brothers, James Shupp, Shartlesville , PA ; and Cansie U. Shupp, Reinholds , PA. A brother, Carl Shupp, preceded her in death. Viewing Service A viewing will be held on Friday evening, August 13, 2004, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM from our parlors. There will also be a viewing on Saturday morning, August 14, 2004, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM from St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Church Street, Bowmansville, PA, where the service celebrating Barbara's life will begin at 11:00 AM with The Reverend Robert A. Witmyer and The Reverend Melvin Mundie officiating. Burial will follow in Bowmansville Union Cemetery, Brecknock Township, Lancaster County, PA.
