Benjamin F. Martin

October 20, 1925 — July 14, 2024

Benjamin F. Martin, 98, formerly of Ephrata and 5-year resident of Faithful Living in Denver, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2024, at the Lebanon VA Hospital. Born in Lititz, Ben was a son to the late Harry and Nora (Wolf) Martin.

He was a very proud WWII veteran, serving in the U.S. Army from 1944 to ‘46. In his later years, his main goal was to outlive his 12 siblings – a job well done because he outlived his sister, Irene Wealand, who previously held the record. In his younger years, he had many jobs, but his favorite was being a pari-mutuel clerk at Penn National where he worked for 25 years. He and his sister, Elsie will surely hit that Big Exacta when they meet in heaven!

Ben’s final resting place will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery where he will join his brother, Monroe. His services, with military honors, will be scheduled in the fall, near his birthday in October.

Ben’s family would like to thank the nurses of the Lebanon VA Hospital, Hospice, and ICU unit as well as the caregivers at Faithful Living for their kind care.
