Bernetha Barnett

Bernetha G. Barnett, age 91, formerly of Ephrata, Lancaster County, PA, died Monday, January 7, 2013, in Ephrata Manor, Ephrata Township, PA. Born in Reamstown, Lancaster County, PA, a daughter of the late Morris K. and Alice L. (Ecenrode) Steffy, her husband of 62 years, Earl E. Barnett, died March 17, 2007. Bernetha was a member of St. Paul"s Evangelical Congregational Church and enjoyed assisting in the nursery department. She worked in the kitchens at the former Parkside Manor, Stevens, and Colonial Lodge, Denver, PA, and volunteered at Ephrata Community Hospital. A selfless person, she was always sharing, especially her cooking and baking. Surviving are her sons, Earl E. (Anita) Barnett, Highland Springs, VA; and Donald R. Barnett, Harrisburg; a daughter, Audrey L. (Stefan) Schweiger, Silver Spring, MD; 4 grandchildren; and a sister, Esther M. Mohn, East Earl. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 15, at 11:00 am from St. Paul"s E. C. Church, 46 East Church Street, Reamstown, PA 17567-0275, with her pastor, The Reverend Kirk R. Marks, officiating. Burial will follow at 1:00 pm in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Lebanon County. A viewing will be held from Good Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Reamstown, on Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and immediately prior to the service at the church. Rather than flowers the family requests contributions be sent to her church at the address above.
