Bonita J. Steffy

Bonita J. Steffy, 75, of Ephrata, PA, passed away at WellSpan York Hospital on Sunday, March 12, 2023 after a brief illness.

Bonnie was born in Ephrata, PA, daughter of the late James W. and Betty Messner Althouse. She graduated from Ephrata High School in 1965 and worked as an in home caregiver for United Disabilities.

She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Denver, PA and the Reamstown Fire Company Auxiliary.

Bonnie loved doing crafts and was very dedicated to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons: Mark A. (Alicia) Steffy and Eric (Linda) Steffy; seven grandchildren: Julianne Bonifacio, Timothy Sheaffer, Jr., Allen Steffy, Ashley Hicks, Gabrielle Steffy, Hailey Steffy, and Erica Steffy; seven great grandchildren: Isabella Bonifacio, Alyssa Bonifacio, Ethan Sheaffer, Reece Sheaffer, Liliana Steffy, Andrew Steffy, Hunter Stauffer, Wyatt Hinkle, and Declan Hinkle; two sisters: Brenda Haldeman and Robin Althouse; and two nieces, Jamie and April Haldeman.

A Celebration of Bonnie’s Life will be held at the Reamstown Fire Hall, 12 West Church St., Reamstown, PA 17567 on Sunday, April 2 from 2-4 p.m.
