Brian Michaelson, 66, of Harrisburg, PA and formerly of Staten Island, NY and Ephrata, PA, passed away at home on Friday, January 17, 2020. Born in Brooklyn, New York on December 10, 1953, Brian was the first of Irene and Stanley Michaelson’s three children. He attended Erasmus High Scholl and went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. Brian started his Postal Career as a nineteen- year old clerk in the Brooklyn GPO before becoming the protégé of Vince Pallidino on Staten Island. He was the Customer Relations Coordinator of the Staten Island Postal Service and went on to become a Postal Supervisor. He retired from the Post Office after 35 years of service. Brian was active in the community serving on the boards of University Hospice and Staten Island Community Television and coordinating the annual borough wide food drive of the Staten Island Letter Carriers and all Saints Episcopal Church in Willowbrook. He later moved to Ephrata, Pennsylvania. He was married to Kristine Ann Pirello who preceded him in death. They have one daughter Melissa. In addition to his daughter, Brian is survived by his current wife, Joan Michaelson, and two brothers, Glenn and Craig. Brian was a loving husband and a good friend to many people. He will be missed by all who knew him. He has gone to a better place and his memory will live on in his family and friends. Memorial services will be held at Paul L. Gravenor Home For Funerals, 100 W. Main St. Ephrata, PA 17522 on Thursday, January 23 at 11:00 a.m. Friends will be received before the service from 10-11 a.m.
