Brother John Bosco Hammond, 78, a member of the St. Clement's Mission House Community, Ephrata, PA, died on May 25, 2019 at WellSpan York Hospital, York, PA. Rollin William Edward Hammond was born on October 5, 1940 in Toledo, Ohio. The son of Lester and Lucy (Cosgrove), he was baptized at St. Vincent Hospital in Toledo and confirmed at St. Stephen's, Toledo. He professed first vows on August 2, 1960 in Ilchester, Maryland, and took the name John Bosco. His solemn vows as a professed brother in the Congregation were made on August 2, 1965, at Ilchester, Maryland. His novitiate was made in Ilchester (1959-1960) and he remained there until 1964, after which he served in many Parish's until arriving at St. Clement's in June, 2015. Brother Bosco was a volunteer fireman during his time in Ephrata from 1969-1981 and also ran the food bank. Viewings will be held at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church, 320 Church Ave., Ephrata, PA on Sunday, June 2nd from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., with a Catholic Wake Service at 7:00 p.m., and on Monday, June 3rd from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Final Commendation and Farewell will follow the Mass and will take place at the Redemptorist Cemetery at St. Clement's Mission House. 0
