Cameron R. Epler, 80, of Brecknock Twp., Berks Co., passed away Monday, July 9, 2018 at home. Cameron was the devoted husband of Stella E. (Blimline) Epler for over 60 years. He was a son of the late Wilber A. Epler & Margaret Anderson. He grew up in downtown Mohnton with his father and stepmother, Margaret "Peg" Epler who cared for the family as her own. Cameron was a U.S. Army veteran, worked for General Battery in Laureldale for 10 years and in 1967 he started working for Mrs Smiths, the bakery in Pottstown, as a foreman in the pumpkin room. He enjoyed 30 years at the bakery and was lovingly known as the Pumpkin Man. He was a life member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Gouglersville. Cameron was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting. He spent a lot of time with his children and grandchildren, having a special relationship with each of them. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children: Debra A. Henry, wife of Robert W. Jr. of Adamstown; Donna M. Reber, wife of James T. Sr. of Birdsboro; Diane L. Bennethum, wife of Philip M. Sr. of Shillington; & Cameron R. Epler, Jr. husband of Melissa L. (Speicher) of Brecknock Twp.; six grandchildren: James & Matthew Reber; Philip Jr. & Paul Bennethum, Jessica & Andrew Epler; and 10 great grandchildren. Cameron was predeceased by his granddaughter Catharine E. Henry; a brother, Richard Epler; & sister, Betty Eckenroth.Viewings will be held Sun., July 15, 6 8 pm and Mon., July 16, 10 11 am in the Good Sipler Funeral & Cremation Centre, Inc., 34-38 N. Reamstown Rd., Reamstown, Pa 17567. The funeral service will be Mon. July 16 at 11:00 am, officiated by Pastor Debra Griffin. Interment will immediately follow in Emmanuel Cemetery, Mohnton, Pa.
