Clair Flickinger

Remembering Clair with Love... Clair Flickinger, 87, Ephrata, died Sunday, October 4, 2009, in Ephrata Community Hospital . Born in East Earl Township , a son of the late William and Orlean (Showalter) Flickinger, he was the husband of Mary E. (Miller) Flickinger for 44 years on October 2nd. A 1940 Terre Hill High School graduate, he was a Navy veteran of World War II. A member, 22 year treasurer and Sunday school teacher of St. Paul 's Evangelical Congregational Church, Reamstown, Clair was an avid quaits player, rose gardener and Phillies and Giants fan. Retiring from Valley Protein, formerly Messner Brothers, Terre Hill, after 49 years, he worked for Ritter Tours and Elite Coach, Ephrata, and last for Martin Country Market, Ephrata. Also surviving are daughters, Audrey M. (Robert) Ritter, Reamstown; and Barbara L. (Barton) Laukhuff, New Holland; 4 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy (Fred) Styer, Terre Hill; and Leona (Thomas) Pavlakis, Lancaster; and a brother, Willis (Irene Stafford) Flickinger, Ephrata. He was predeceased by sisters, Elva Sensenig and Mary Jane Stafford, and brothers, Marvin and Alvin Flickinger. Viewing Funeral Service... Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2009, at 2:00 PM from Good Funeral Home Cremation Centre, Reamstown, with his pastor, The Rev. Kirk R. Marks, officiating. Burial in Salem Union Cemetery , Reamstown. A viewing will be held on Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Rather than flowers, contributions in Clair's memory may be sent to St. Paul 's E. C. Church, Box 275 , Reamstown , PA 17567 or Ephrata Community Hospital , 169 Martin Avenue , Ephrata , PA 17522 .
