Dale E. Stoner, 88, passed away Friday, January 5th, 2024, at the Wellspan Community Hospital in Ephrata. Born in Lititz, Dale was a son of the late John L. and Henrietta S. (Dull) Stoner, and the loving husband to Janet (Hoover) Stoner for 45 years.
Dale worked for the former Bedford Shoe company of Lititz where he was a machine operator. He then worked as a mechanic and tow truck driver for Keller Brothers until he was 80-years old. He was proud of his work at Keller Brothers and enjoyed the many relationships he had built there over the years. Dale also enjoyed going to their place in Rehoboth on weekends and riding in the golf cart with his Bichon, Molly. Camping in Indian River Inlet and Elk Neck State Park in Maryland was also a favorite where memories were made, and family spent time together. Trips to Florida, where he enjoyed the sunshine in the winter months were an annual event for Dale. He was a man of few words, but conversations of trucks and work could go on for hours. Dale was all smiles when the grandkids were around, and ‘Grandpa Stoner' loved them dearly. Dale was always busy doing something, working in the yard or tinkering in the shed. He regularly attended the Ebenezer Evangelical Church in Brownstown. He loved Janet’s cooking and getting together with friends to play cards. He was dearly loved by his and Janet's family, a blended family of love and cherished relationships.
In addition to his wife, Dale is survived by three daughters, Cindy Lentz of Ohio, Tammy Slocum (Tim) of Manheim, and Renee Horn (Steve) of Manheim; two stepdaughters, Darby Lapp of Lancaster, Donna Nash (Vince) of Ephrata; stepson, Danny Parkhouse of Akron; fifteen grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; sister, Donna Paley (Frederick) of York; sister-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.
Dale was predeceased by a stepson, Brian Royer; great grandson, Wyatt Bruns; brother Carl Stoner; three sisters, Edith Stoner, Edna Stoner, Marcella Stoner; and step son-in-law, Richard Lapp.
