David L. Shope

David L. Shope, age 74, of Clay Township, Ephrata, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at 8:00 pm in Lancashire Hall, Neffsville, Lancaster County, PA. Born in Stoneham, Warren County, PA, he was a son of the late Melvin L. and Meryl (Parmenter) Shope, and was married to Marie Joanne (Otto) Shope for 30 years on May 28, 2013. David was a Vietnam Era Army veteran and drove truck for Cumberland Truck, Ephrata. He loved camping, reading and watching the History Channel. Surviving in addition to his wife are sisters, Virginia Platz and Judy Larson; and a brother, Gary Shope, all of North Carolina. Siblings Gloria Reed, Allen, Melvin and James Shope preceded him in death. It was David"s wish that all arrangements be handled privately. Inurnment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Lebanon County, PA. Contributions in his memory may be sent to the Ephrata Cancer Center, 460 North Reading Road, Ephrata, PA 17522.
