David Linvingstone Dickinson

December 10, 1923 — February 20, 2004

Remembering David with Love... David Livingstone Dickinson, 80, formerly of Stony Run Village, Denver, PA, died Friday morning at Jones Memorial Hospital, Wellsville, New York. He was a resident of Wellsville Manor Care Center, Wellsville, for several years. Born in Harmonyville, PA, he was a son of the late W. Harry and Elizabeth N. (Noble) Dickinson. His wife, Betty E. (Frieberg) Dickinson, died February 23, 2001. He was a member of Muddy Creek Evangelical Lutheran Church, Denver, Lancaster County, PA. He was a 1944 graduate of Nyack Missionary College, Nyack, NY. Ordained as a minister in the Christian Missionary Alliance Church, he served the denomination for 25 years in Ohio, Michigan and West Virginia. Retiring in 1988, he had last been employed for 25 years with Sears at their Pottstown, PA, location. Surviving are 2 daughters, Melody L., married to Darwin L. Fanton; and Rebecca M., married to James Wightman, both of Wellsville, NY; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; a brother, J. Leonard Dickinson, Ephrata, PA; a step-son, Barry L. Blackburn, Aurora, Colorado; Susan (Blackburn), married to Thomas J. Burby, The Woodlands, Texas; and Cathy (Blackburn) Smith, Montrose, Colorado; and 9 step-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by 4 brothers, Merrill, Clifford, Paul Donald Dickinson. Viewing Service A viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2004, from Noon to 1:00 PM from our parlors. Services will begin at 1:00 PM with The Reverend Joyce Seip officiating. Burial will follow in Coventryville Cemetery, South Coventry Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania.
