Doris Y. Barker-Crimmins, 60, of Sinking Spring, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2023. Born in York, she was a daughter of Mary (Orr) Barker and the late Ruben Barker. For 32 years she was the loving wife to Robert F. Crimmins until his passing in 2013. Doris worked at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Lebanon for over 15 years as a secretary in the Emergency Department. She was creative and enjoyed making crafts and polymer clay figurines. Doris had a love for sign language, something that she had taught herself over the years. She would visit the Gallaudet University in Washing D.C. (a school for the deaf) to practice and use signing. Doris was very social and enjoyed being with people. Most of all, she loved being 'Nani' and created special relationships with each of her grandchildren. She was very involved in the lives of her grandchildren and they will forever remember the love, gentleness, and support that she offered. In addition to her mother, Doris is survived by three children, T. Alexander Crimmins, Ashley M. Crimmins-Hoshour (Mark) of Sinking Spring, Andrew M. Crimmins (Wanda) of Denver; five grandchildren, Nairobi Barker-Crimmins, Raiden Crimmins, Masen Hoshour, Lilly Crimmins, & Harlen Crimmins; and three siblings, Francine, Tanya, Ruben Jr. Doris' final resting place will be with her husband at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pa.
