Dorothy "Dot" A. Romig

Dorothy A. Romig, 89, of Ephrata, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at Ephrata Manor. Born in Ephrata, where Dot was a lifelong resident, she was a daughter of the late Floyd A. & Florence (Frederick) Weidman and the loving wife to Robert Romig until his passing in 2005.

Dot was a member of Hope United Methodist Church. She worked at the former Atlas Sewing Company as a machine operator and assembled the newspapers for Shopping News. Dot loved her Ephrata community. She enjoyed bowling and was a member of some local bowling leagues. Dot kept her mind active with jigsaw puzzles and word searches. She loved her family and enjoyed the special relationships she had with her many nieces and nephew.

Dot is survived by two sisters, Mary Jane (Gerald) Schnader of Ephrata and Shirley (James) France of Lees Summit, MO; many nieces and a nephew. In addition to her husband and parents, Dot was predeceased by a sister Betty M. Wolf.

Services will be held at Gravenor Sipler Funeral & Cremation Centre, Inc., 100 W. Main St., Ephrata, Pa on Sat., Aug. 10th. The viewing will be from 10 to 11 a.m. and the funeral service will begin at 11am. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Ephrata.
