Remembering "Dot" with Love... Dorothy R. "Dot" Effinger, age 76, of Denver , died unexpectedly at home on April 6, 2010. Born in Pottstown , a daughter of the late Rev. Dr. Arthur H. and Rose M. (Maier) Getz, she was the wife of Charles W. Effinger, Jr., for 52 years. A 1951 Germantown High School and 1954 Lankenau Hospital School of Nursing graduate, she fulfilled 41 years as a registered nurse in 1995, having served Lankenau Hospital, Philadelphia, Ephrata Community Hospital and Lebanon VA Medical Center. A dedicated member, past council president and committee woman of St. Paul 's Evangelical Lutheran Church , Adamstown, she also sang in the choir. Dot was a former Penn Laurel Council Girl Scout Leader, Troop #354 and loved traveling. Surviving in addition to her husband is a son, Charles W., III, (Deborah Hughes) Effinger, Clifton Park , NY ; daughter, Margaret "Peggy" ( Clark ) Seiler, Reinholds; and grandchildren, Lauren and Lance Corporal Charles W. Effinger, IV. She was predeceased by a daughter, Dorothy R. "Duffy" Effinger, and brothers, Rev. Theodore E. and Arthur L. Getz. Viewings Funeral Service... Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2010, at 1:00 PM from St. Paul 's Lutheran Church , 80 E. Main St. , Adamstown , PA 19501 , with her pastor, The Rev. Sandra L. Gideon, officiating. Viewings will be held on Friday, April 10, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Good Funeral Home Cremation Centre, Reamstown, and prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Rather than flowers, contributions may be send to her church at the address above. Private inurnment in Muddy Creek Cemetery .
