Dorothy G. Shober, age 93, formerly of Denver, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, died Friday, November 29, 2013, at 6:40 pm in Ephrata Manor, Ephrata Township, PA. Born in Denver, a daughter of the late Wesley L. and Anna (Rutt) Gensemer, her husband, Roy L. Shober, died April 3, 1983. A 1938 Denver High School graduate, Dorothy was a member of High Point Baptist Church, Geigertown. She was the co-owner/operator of Shober & Sons Meats, Inc., Denver, for 40 years. A longtime volunteer at The Ephrata Cloister, she was honored as volunteer of the year by the Pennsylvania Historical Commission. Dorothy also enjoyed playing piano and singing. Surviving are her children, Thomas G. and Patrick G. (Sharon Goshert) Shober, both of Denver, PA; and Susan G. Shober, Adamstown, PA; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; a sister, Hazel Hornberger and brother, Richard Gensemer, both of Ephrata. Sisters, Kathleen Rathman and Luetta Graybill, predeceased her. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at 10:00 AM from Good Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, Reamstown, with viewing from 9-10 AM. The Rev. Stephen E. Hollinger will officiate with burial to follow in Lincoln Cemetery, Ephrata. Rather than flowers, contributions may be made in Dorothy"s memory to Water Street Rescue Mission, 210 S. Prince St., Lancaster, PA 17603.
