Remembering Douglass with Love... Douglass H. Rothermel, Sr., age 76, of 1278 Crestview Drive, Denver, Lancaster County, died unexpectedly in his home on Sunday afternoon, August 14, 2005, at 4:50 PM. Born May 16, 1929, in West Reading, Berks County , he was a son of the late Douglass E. and Helen (Pfleger) Rothermel, and was the husband of Betty J. (Hess) Rothermel for 60 years. Mr. Rothermel was an engineer with Metropolitan Edison Company, Reading, for many years until retiring and had been a member of Advent Lutheran Church , West Lawn. He enjoyed woodworking and painting. Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, Douglass H., Jr., husband of Mary (McCarthy) Rothermel, Toms River, NJ; 2 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. Private Graveside Service...A private graveside service will be held from Pleasant View Cemetery , Spring Township , Berks County .
