Edward H. Wartschlager

Remembering Ed with Love... Edward H. Wartschlager, 88, formerly of Sinking Spring, died Dec. 22, 2008, at Berks Heim where he resided since 2003. Born in Reading, a son of the late Michael and Pauline (Peitsch) Wartschlager, he was the husband of Arlene M. (Good) Wartschlager, Villa St. Elizabeth, Reading, for 59 years on June 25th. A 1938 Reading High School graduate, he was an army veteran of WWII, and retired in 1982 from Berkshire Knitting Mills, Wyomissing. A member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sinking Spring, he was a former councilman, choir member and bowled with the church's bowling league. Ed also enjoyed golf. Also surviving are nieces, nephews and their families. Memorial Service...A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 2, 2009, at 4:00 PM from Good Funeral Home Cremation Centre of Reamstown with his pastor, The Reverend Harry S. Bohn, Jr., officiating. There will be no viewing. Omit flowers; contributions to Lutheran Church , 4125 Penn Avenue, Sinking Spring, PA 19608. Inurnment in Muddy Creek Cemetery will be private at a later date.
