L. Elizabeth Dover

L. Elizabeth “Liz” Dover, 75, of Ephrata, passed away on Sunday, March 23rd, 2025, at the Fairmount Homes Nursing Facility. Born in Wilkes-Barre, Liz was a daughter of the late John L. Searfoss & Louise M. (Adams) Long. Liz also shared over 50 beautiful years of marriage with Mr. Russell Dover.

Liz was a 1967 graduate of Hempfield High School and later worked several secretarial and administrative assistant jobs. She worked for a temp agency that gave her multiple new working experiences. She was a volunteer at the Ephrata Hospital in their print shop. Liz worked for Tapsco typesetting for 15 years, and other print jobs which gave her the skills to create her own small printing business. Liz had the most giving heart, giving her time to so many organizations. She volunteered at the Creation Festivals for over 30 years, Jesus Ministries, a 24-year election poll worker. A member of the Reamstown Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and an EMT with the ambulance. She was a member of Lancaster United Methodist Church in the 60’s, a member of the Worship Center for 25 years and the Sanctuary Vineyard Church for 15 years. In her free time, she loved the beach and camping. At home she enjoyed relaxing with her favorite TV shows or working on jigsaw puzzles. Liz’s giving and loving heart will be deeply missed by all the lives she touched.

Along with her husband, Liz is survived by a daughter, Jennifer (Blubaugh) Horst, wife of Michael Horst; two grandchildren, Kimberly Horst-Parker & Kathryn Horst; sister, Barbara Splain; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, Liz is predeceased by a sister, Beverly, and ex-husband, Blaine Blubaugh.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 26th, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. with a celebration of life service beginning at 11:30 p.m., and luncheon to follow at Community Fellowship Church, 200 Bethel Dr, Lancaster, PA 17601.
