Remembering Elwood "Jr"... Elwood C. Firestone, Jr., age 83, formerly of Reading, died Saturday, May 24, 2008, in Golden Living Center, Exeter Township, Berks County, where he resided since March 21, 2001. Born in Denver, Lancaster County, PA, he was a son of the late Elwood C. Firestone, Sr. and Lucy Messner Firestone. An Army veteran of World War II serving in the European Theatre, he was a life member of VFW Post 38, Reading, and the 900 Club of Reading. During his life, he was a brick block layer with Snyder Long Contractors; and explosive technician with Grace Mines, Morgantown; and a welder with Posey Iron Works, Lancaster. Surviving is a son, Kenneth E. Firestone, Denver, PA; granddaughters, Vickie Beck and Kathy Eitnier; 3 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Floy, wife of Clyde Goshert, Denver, PA. He was preceded in death by sisters, Marie, Barbara, and Geneva, and brothers, Jay, Ray and Kay. Private Service... There will be no public viewing or services. Private inurnment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Lebanon County, PA.
