Elwood G. "Woody" Zerr

Remembering "Woody" with Love... Elwood G. Zerr, 88, of Spring Township , died May 25, 2009, in his residence. Born in Shillington, a son of the late Levi G. and Sallie Ann L. (Fidler) Zerr, his wife, Grace M. (Good) Zerr, died May 22, 2001. An Army staff sergeant in World War II, he was a life member of the Adamstown VFW. "Woody" was a lifelong farmer and operated Elwood G. Zerr Roofing Siding from 1945-1969. Also known as "Pops", especially at local diners, he enjoyed roller skating at Starlite Skating Rink and spending time with his family. Surviving is a son, David G. Zerr, Sinking Spring; daughter, Linda J. (John) Granger, Laureldale; 3 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters. He was predeceased by a son, Kent M. Zerr, in the Vietnam War, and 4 sisters. Viewing Funeral Service... Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 29, 2009, at 11:00 AM from Good Funeral Home Cremation Centre of Reamstown with The Rev. Melvin H. Stehr officiating. Burial in Wyomissing Cemetery , Gouglersville. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
