Esther M. (Steffy) Mohn, 97, formerly of East Earl, passed away on Friday, November 8th, 2024, at the Ephrata Manor. Born in Reamstown, Esther was a daughter of the late Morris K. & Alice (Ecenrode) Steffy. She was the loving wife to Melvin R. Mohn for 52 years until his passing in 2003.
Growing up in Reamstown, Esther worked as a sewing machine operator for the Hope Hosiery Mills for 16 years, Stunzi Silk Mill, then part time, while raising her family, for the Cinderella Knitting Mill until her retirement. She was a lifetime member of St. Paul’s E.C. Church in Reamstown. Esther loved to watch gameshows, keeping up with the news, and was an avid puzzle booker. Her friendly personality and word search skills will be deeply missed.
Esther is survived by two daughters, Melissa A. (Terry) Arment of East Earl, Lisa G. (Timothy) Trinkley of Akron; two granddaughters, Rochell M. Trinkley & Jasmine N. Arment; four step-grandchildren; and 6 step-great grandchildren. She is predeceased by two siblings, Berneatha Barnett and Robert E. Steffy.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, November 14th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s E.C. Church, 46 E Church St, Reamstown, PA 17567. Esther’s final resting place is at the Fairview Cemetery Annex in Denver.
