Fern O. Gensemer, 91, of Denver, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2021 at WellSpan Ephrata Hospital. Born in Schuylkill Co., she was a daughter of the late Norman and Ella Mae (Jones) Miller and the loving wife of 66 years to Richard R. "Cotton" Gensemer, until his passing in 2014. Fern was a graduate of Denver High School, class of 1947 and loved working as an independent beauty consultant with Avon for 40 years. She was a member of St. John's UCC church in Denver and enjoyed yearly trips with Cotton to Ocean City Maryland. Fern was an avid NASCAR and Phillies fan, watching the races and games was always a fun priority. Fern was resilient, always prevailing with a positive, strong spirit even when times were tough. Fern is survived by two daughters, Dixie Stewart and Angela Schwartz; six granddaughters; and a grandson. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Scott Gensemer; and two sisters, Gloria Miller and Jean Bergman. Services will be private. Her final resting place is in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pa. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Hospice & Community Care, 685 Good Dr., Lancaster, PA 17604.
