Floretta M. Gockley

Remembering Floretta with Love... Floretta M. Gockley, 85, of Landis Homes, Lititz, Lancaster County , formerly of Reamstown, Lancaster County , died Monday, April 25, 2005, at 4:45 AM in Heart of Lancaster Regional Medical Center, Warwick Township , Lancaster County , where she was a patient one day. Born May 19, 1919, in Reamstown, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Edna (Hain) Fritz. Her husband of 61 years, Charles W. "Chas" Gockley, died April 10, 1999. A member and former Sunday school teacher of St. Paul 's Evangelical Congregational Church, Reamstown, she sang alto for many years at various church functions. Floretta was employed for many years at the former C B Trimming, Reamstown. She and her husband had square danced and traveled across the country and Mexico . She was a tremendous baker of cakes and pies, crocheted afghans for numerous people and was a loving mother, grandmother great-grandmother. Surviving are a son, Dr. Gil, husband of Tanya (Tihansky) Gockley, Rochester, NY; a daughter, Cynthia, wife of George Capewell, Miami, FL; 6 grandchildren, Christopher, Victoria, Shana, Debra, Coleman and Jared; and 2 great-grandchildren, Christopher and Casidhe; Also a sister, June Schlack, Stevens, PA. She was preceded in death by a sister, Arlene Lorah, and 3 brothers, Vernon, Willard and Gilbert Fritz. Viewing Service A viewing will be held on Friday afternoon, April 29, 2005, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM from our parlor. Services will follow at 2:00 PM with The Rev. Kirk R. Marks and The Rev. Don Good officiating. Burial in Mt. Zion Evangelical Cemetery, Akron, Lancaster County. Contributions may be sent to Landis Homes, 1001 East Oregon Road , Lititz , PA 17543 .
