Franklin Wenrich

Franklin H. Wenrich, age 85, a resident of Pleasant View Retirement Community, Manheim, Lancaster County, PA, formerly of Reamstown, died peacefully Wednesday, October 24, 2012, at Hospice & Community Care, Mt. Joy. Born in Schoeneck, a son of the late Raymond and Lizzie (Hollenbach) Wenrich, he was the husband of Ida E. (Davidson) Wenrich, Manheim, for 67 years. A member, former councilman and property committee member of Muddy Creek Lutheran Church, he worked for Boose Aluminum Foundry, Epting"s Service Center, Camp Craig"s Exxon and retired in "92 from East Cocalico Township Water & Sewer Authority. Franklin was past president of East Cocalico Lions Club and member of the Reamstown Fire Company & Fire Police. A loving grandfather, he cherished family time hunting & fishing at the cabin. Also surviving is a son, Donald E. (Judith Shenk) Wenrich, Manheim; a daughter, Patricia A. Wenzel, fianc"e of Edwin Hainley, Reinholds; grandchildren, Michelle (Christopher) Getty, Stroudsburg; Michael (Lori Volm) Wenzel, Mohrsville; Jennifer (Jamie) Boval, Clermont, FL; and Stephen (Rebecca Weaver) Wenrich, Paradise; great-grandchildren, Rachel & Kaitlyn Getty; Molly & Gary Wenzel; Brenda, Ryan & Jordan Boval; and Makayla Wenrich; sisters, Vera Zeller, Hamilton, OH; and Marguerite Sweigart, Adamstown. Brothers, Leroy & Chester Wenrich; and a son-in-law, Thomas Wenzel, predeceased him. HURRICANE SANDY CREATED SEVERE WEATHER CONDITIONS. For everyone's safety and at the family's request, (rather than the scheduled funeral service), a graveside service was held Monday, October 29, 2012, at 9:00 am. with Rev. Robert A. Kramer officiating in Muddy Creek Cemetery, Swartzville. A viewing was held Sunday, October 28, 2012, from 6 to 8 pm.
