Frederick Orth

Frederick H. Orth,70, of Reinholds, passed away Monday, May 24, 2021, at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Reading, Fred was a son of the late Harry and Catherine (Boyer) Orth and the devoted husband of 45 years to Sophia A. (Straka) Orth. Fred was a graduate of Reading High School, class of 1969. He was a talented auto mechanic and worked for Ermolds Garage from 1966 to '86 and for Clover Farms Dairy until 2017. An avid hot rod enthusiast, Fred's most recent cars included a 1968 Chevelle Super Sport and a '56 Chevy. He and his son, Dustin, shared the love of hot rods, restoring vintage tractors, and fishing. He could fix just about anything. Fred enjoyed fishing, often in Delaware, where he had won many tournaments. He loved his family and took a father-son relationship to a greater level; he and Dustin were best of friends. Fred will forever be remembered for his giving and selfless manner. He was always there for anyone who needed help. Fred was a devoted member of St. Ignatius Loyola Church in Sinking Spring. In addition to his wife, Fred is survived by his son, Dustin M. (Katie) Orth of Mohnton; grandchildren, Meredith Lewes Orth & William Frederick Orth; a sister, Shirly Reigner of Mohnton; and a brother, Robert Orth (Janet) of Reinholds. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Tues., June 1st at 12:30 p.m. at St. Ignatius Loyola Church, 2600 St Albans Dr, Reading, PA 19609.
