Frederick S. Lesher

March 10, 1936 — January 30, 2024

Frederick S. Lesher, 87, of Denver, passed away Tuesday, January 30th, 2024, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital. Born in Lancaster, Fred was a son to the late Roy R. & Florence (Fritz) Lesher and the devoted husband to Nancy Lou (Musser) Lesher until her passing in 1977.

Fred was a graduate of the former Mohnton High School, class of 1953. He worked in the Carbonizing Department for the Bollman Hat Company in Adamstown for 47 years, retiring as the Assistant Manager. Fred enjoyed hunting at the Sunflower Hunting Cabin, he treasured the times he spent hunting and fishing with his grandsons. Fred was devoted to caring for the special needs of his son, Scott. Time with family was precious, trips to the beach or mountains will forever be loved memories. Fred cherished his role as ‘Pop Pop’ and ‘Pappy’ and helped care for his grandsons when he retired. Even a simple car ride with Pop Pop became an adventure, especially at stoplights where the boys always prompted him to race the car next to him. Fred had a giving heart; he was always willing and available to help. He was a man of faith and enjoyed playing hymns on the piano. Fred was also a Phillies and Flyers fan and enjoyed playing cards. His steadfast love, devotion to family, and selflessness will be forever treasured.

Fred is survived by a daughter, Hope M. Franck (Rodney) of Ephrata, two grandsons, Mitchell J. Franck (Morgan) & Nicholas T. Franck (Andrea); a great grandson, Cooper and two on the way. In addition to his wife and parents, Fred was predeceased by his son, Scott A. Lesher; and three brothers, Donald Lesher, Kenneth Lesher, and Ivan Weitzel.
