Genevieve 'Genny' W. (Heinsey) Kane, 80, formerly of Reamstown and Lancaster, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023. Born in Reamstown, she was the daughter of the late Daniel K. and Violet (Wingenroth) Heinsey. Genny was a graduate of Cocalico Union High School, class of 1961. In the late 60's, she moved to Lancaster and began raising her family. Genny was known for being crafty. She enjoyed crocheting, cross stitching and having stockpiles of yarn. She lovingly used these talents to create handmade baby blankets for all her family and friends. She also loved being "Grammy" to her grandchildren and coming to the rescue by mending clothes, stuffed animals and making babydoll accessories. Genny crafted special Christmas ornaments each year. She lived with her son, Rick, for 10 years and created special relationships with all her grandchildren. Genny was quiet natured and enjoyed the simple treasures of life. She had many special memories from trips with her family. Her love for her family will forever be remembered. Genevieve is survived by three children, Rick (Jen) Kane of Lititz, Matthew (Megan) Kane of Mechanicsburg, Nancy (Steve) Mason of Lititz; four grandchildren, Allison, Patrick, Hailey, & Natalie; and two brothers, Kenneth Heinsey of Reamstown & Larry (Judith) Heinsey in Ephrata. She was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Rochelle E. (Lausch) Heinsey. A viewing will be held on Wed., May 3rd from 10 to 11 a.m. at Good Sipler Funeral & Cremation Centre, 34 N. Reamstown Rd., Reamstown (Stevens) followed by a graveside service in Swamp Cemetery, Reinholds.
