Geraldine A. "Gerry" Heft

Remembering "Gerry" with Love... Geraldine A. "Gerry" Heft, 71, Lititz, formerly of Reamstown, died Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at 12:50 PM in her residence. Born in Ephrata, a daughter of the late John L. Zerbe and Pauline E. (Shaub) Zerbe, Lititz, she was married to S. Eugene Heft for 37 years. A 1955 Ephrata High School graduate, she attended Lancaster School of Nursing and was a member and former financial secretary of Faith United Evangelical Lutheran Church , Denver . Gerry worked for Walter W. Moyer, Inc., Ephrata; Ross Company, Denver ; and part-time with Good Funeral Home, Reamstown, last assisting on March 15th. A dedicated wife, she helped with East Cocalico Lions Club activities, was a board member of Rainbow Girls and Cocalico Senior Center, a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Lititz Springs Chapter #499, and enjoyed her walks with "Brandy". Surviving in addition to her husband and mother are daughters, Melanie A. (Donald E., Jr.) Horn, Lancaster ; and Ann M. (Carl E.) Unruh, Denver ; a son, Scott D. Grant, Denver; grandchildren, Ross Unruh, Kelly Kline, Rachel Horn and Donald "Tripp" Horn, III; and great-grandsons, Cooper Unruh and Kyle Kline. Viewing Funeral Service... A viewing will be held on Sunday, April 5, 2009, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM from Good Funeral Home Cremation Centre of Reamstown, and at the church Monday 10-11 AM. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 6, 2009, at 11:00 AM from Faith United Lutheran Church , 357 Walnut Street , Denver , PA 17517 , with her pastor, The Rev. William Cluley, officiating. Geraldine's Buttermilk Drop Cookie Recipe... 2 cups granulated sugar; 1 cup margarine; 3 eggs; 1 cup buttermilk; 1 teaspoon vanilla; 1 teaspoon soda; 1 teaspoon baking powder; 4 cups flour Mix and drop on cookie sheets; bake at 375 degrees. Frost with butter cream icing!
