Gilbert Nolt

November 9, 1931 — February 9, 2019

Gilbert S. Nolt, 87 of Stevens passed away Sat. Feb. 9, 2019 at home. He was the loving husband of 65 years to Grace A. (Latshaw) Nolt. Born in Landisville, he was a son of the late Amron R. & Rhoda R. (Stehman) Nolt. Gilbert worked as a machinist at Sperry New Holland for over 25 years followed by working for the family business, Nolt Brothers, Inc. in Ephrata and retired in 2003. He enjoyed family trips to the beach at Pot-Nets, DE where he would go clamming & fishing. Gilbert will be remembered for his quiet manner, easy spirit and weekly routine of visiting the Green Dragon each Friday. He enjoyed his friends at the Reamstown Athletic Assoc. and watching the Phillies play. Most of all he loved his role as Pappy with his grand and great grandchildren, having a special relationship with each of them. In addition to his wife, Gilbert is survived by two daughters, Diane M. Ewell (Calvin) of East Earl and Ann M. Archer (Dale Johnston, Jr.) of Adamstown; seven grandchildren: Scott, Steven, Mark, Kelly, Amie, Jamie eight great grandchildren; a sister, Eleanor S. Dombach of Ephrata; two brothers, Levi S. Nolt of Ephrata and Donald S. Nolt of Akron. He was predeceased by his son, Gilbert E. Nolt of Millsboro, DE; one sister and four brothers. A Celebration of Life service will be held Sat. Feb. 16th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Pauls E.C. Church, 46 East Church St., Reamstown. Relatives & friends will be received from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in Mellingers Cemetery, Schoeneck. Contributions in memory of Gilbert to St. Pauls E.C.
