Harry Edwin McDowell, Sr., 86, of Lititz, PA, passed away on Monday, December 27, 2021 at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital. Born in Reno, PA, Ed was a son of the late John E. McDowell, Sr. and Florence (Voorhees) McDowell and husband of the late Juanita M. (Rodgers) McDowell, with whom he shared 62 years of marriage. Ed was a member of Grace Church in Ephrata where he served as usher and helped with church maintenance and groundskeeping. He had been employed at Lancaster Malleable, Woodstream Corp. of Lititz, PA, and most recently at Congoleum Kinder in Denver, PA. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a member of Camp Overlook in Tioga County, PA. Ed also enjoyed camping, traveling, playing card and dominos, storytelling, and spending time with family. Surviving are two children: Debra “Deb” L. Trostle, wife of Robert, of Denver, PA and Harry E. McDowell, Jr., husband of Anna, of North Carolina; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one nephew, and several nieces. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Roxanne, and two sisters: Hazel and Florence. Friends will be received at Grace Church 62 Hahnstown Rd. Ephrata, PA 17522 on Monday, January 3, 2022 from 10-11 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. followed by interment at Memory Gardens, E. Cocalico Twp., PA. Services are under the care of Paul L. Gravenor Home For Funerals, Ephrata, PA. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations to Grace Church at the above address.
